The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing product technical expertise, in the Pre Sales & Post Sales qualification cycle including 2nd and 3rd level support and training on a range of networking and security products.  This role also includes internal IT support and requires a good knowledge of desk top and network security environments.

A professional in every sense including presentation, presence, communication and technical ability, the candidate will have a minimum of 1 year Technical experience at a high level. The candidate will possess a third level qualification, have a good understanding of IT infrastructure/Security and have proven success in support.

Personal Characteristics
• Technical - really enjoys new technologies and likes to self educate on products - but with good interpersonal skills.
• 2nd & 3rd level support - must have very good general knowledge of networking, security, etc i.e. how IP networks work.
• Training - ability to give training courses to engineering teams (kick start and beyond), needs to have good presence and likes training other engineers.
• Interpersonal skills strong to deal with a customer and manufacturer focus.
• With a desire to create a best in class support centre for the channel - someone who views support as an opportunity to engage with partners and develop solutions and possible sales opportunities - previous operational experience on a helpdesk a bonus
• Someone who wants to develop from a pure “service engineer or support engineer” to a full on technical expert with all the functions that requires – ambitious to succeed in a multi faceted environment – Technical, trainer, support, expert, vendor contact, Pre Sales expert

Function

• 2nd and 3rd level support on a range of products
• Installation services when required
• Training – Kick start programmes across a range of products – previous training experience a bonus
• Previous experience on Fortinet a bonus but certainly hands on experience as a networking and security engineer who wants to move to next stage
• Internal I.T. support - General IT support - to take charge and develop the function as a business enabler - needs good knowledge of desk top environment and related security
